Judy Swallow

Saskatchewan artist, Judy Swallow and her husband Glenn currently live in Alameda.

Judy received formal education from Regina and Brandon University and the Minnesota School of Art where she received several awards.

Judy has been a presenter for S.S.E.A, Teachers’ Conferences, Author/illustrator school and library tour on behalf of Southeast Regional Library, Art consultation for Spectrum Art and has worked as a freelance illustrator for WeWrite Corporation, Ben Lomond California. Judy was also an OSAC Adjudicator 2013.

Judy teaches art classes to youth and adults and is a Children’s Book Illustrator. She has two published children’s books, as well as numerous magazine and book covers.

Saturday, 1:00 pmIllustrator Panel (with Miriam Körner and Rolli, moderated by Sharon Plumb Hamilton): Come and discover the process of illustration and how each of us can think about stories with visual language. Illustrators will also share how illustrations interact with text. (Throughout the weekend, the work of these illustrators will be showcased on the walls of the conference room to inspire and invite conversation and ideas.)

Sunday, 9:30 amCoffee and Discovery Panel (with Shelley Tanaka, Tanya Trafford, and Rolli, moderated by Kristine Scarrow): A chat about books and the working relationships between authors, editors and illustrators. Come with questions!
